Berry Dallinga, the hotelkeeper from Sluiskil, played the best match.

VIENNA - The Spaniard Alfonso Legazpi finished again on top of the ranking on the second day of the World Cup in Vienna, just like he did on the first day. He was the best of 36 players in the preliminary rounds, finished with four match points and an average of 1.071. Jean Reverchon was second before Juan Jose Pineda, Roman Bachmaier and Andreas Kronlachner.

Three Austrians survived today and seeded for the round of tomorrow. Not only Andreas Kronlachner was in top twelve, also Arnim Kahofer and Andreas Horvath.

Berry Dallinga was the only one of six Dutch players who seeded himself. He shone particularly in his match against Christian Andersen with the highest match average of the day: 1.764.

Jean Reverchon made a run of ten, the highest of the day.
