Andernos takes full win against Albert: 8-0

Filippos Kasidokostas and Peter Ceulemans played a high-level match

ALBERT - The French team champion Andernos delivered a flawless performance in the away match against Albert. On the fourth day of the group stage the numbers one and two faced each other. Andernos won in the Retro Albertin arena Retro Albertin with the maximum score: 8-0. The home team showed up with a high level, but could not prevent that the champions had a better finish at all tables.

Francis Connesson (1.563), Jérôme Barbeillon (1.613), Roland Forthomme (1.613) and Filippos Kasidokostas (1.786) defeated respectively Kévin Perrotin (1.094), Cédric Melnytschenko (0.968), Kurt Ceulemans (1.484) and Peter Ceulemans (1.607).

During the first session, Francis Connesson started like a rocket: 26-17 after eleven innings. On the other table Forthomme and Kurt Ceulemans remained in balance, but Forthomme's run of twelve after the break was decisive.

Peter Ceulemans had an excellent start in the second session against Filippos Kasidokostas and was leading 31-22 in 14 innings. Jérôme Barbeillon came to the break with a 7-run against Melnytschenko, leading up to 31-24 in 17. It all turned out into a final stage in which the Greek won 50-45 in 28 Barbeillon 50-30 in 31 innings.

The Andernos average was 1.639, the home team played 1.278.

Andernos now leads the group with six match points ahead of CetSi Morangis and Albert both with three points.

The fourth day is dedicated to the return matches. Andernos-Colmar, Albert-CetSI Morangis and Laxou-Kozoom in the other group on 14th of February, Gravelines-Saint-Maur on 15 February.
