PALMA - The teams Palma and Móstoles played each other in the fourth round of the Spanish league with the leading position at stake. The direct confrontation of the teams with both six points out of three games was won by Palma 5-3. Castalla, winner against Matadepera (6-2), now shares second place with Móstoles. Three teams picked up points in away games: Valencia in Granollers (3-5), Madrid Escuela Nacional in Gandía (2-6) and Paiporta in Cartagena (3-5).

Mallorca were in the spotlight with the two strongest teams so far. Palma could not play with Dani Sánchez, who scored his second big win in a week in Lausanne. The 'islanders' could count on Antonio Montes, the best player of the day, who beat Rubén Legazpi 40-20 in 20 innings. Carlos Crespo and Adrián Legazpi tied the game in 27 innings, a point that would eventually be decisive, as victories were shared on tables three and four: Garriga against Alfonso Legazpi for the local team, Rubén Fernández against Raúl Hernández for the visitors. In the end, it was 5-3 for the islanders (1,398 on average in the match), who now have 12 points on the league table.

Castalla recorded nine points after the win against Matadepera, which only managed to score with José María Más against Jorge Cantó (40-27 in 21). Jesús Rico, Andrés Carrión and Iván Mayor were the winning trio for the Alicante team against Alejandro Pérez, Sánchez Mariscal and César Más.

CB Valencia moved up to fourth place with seven points after the win at Granollers (3-5).

Madrid Escuela Nacional moved away from the last places after their victory in Gandía. Robin Hood Morales defeated José Luis Pascual in 25 innings, Frenchman Devogelere defeated Salvador Verdú in 26.

Paiporta got its first win of the season against Cartagena in a close match (3-5) and with exciting games. Carrasco beat Sintas in 50 innings, Antonio Ortiz beat José Diego Guirao in 41. Mario Mercader and Miguel Herrero tied the game in 38 innings, Dani Peña won the game with Carlos Martínez in 41 innings.
