AMSTERDAM - The two Brabant billiard players, Barry van Beers and Jean van Erp, will play the final of the third Elite Ranking tournament in Osdorp this afternoon. Barry van Beers surprised in the semifinals Dick Jaspers in a dazzling match. Jean van Erp defeated Raimond Burgman in extra time. The match in the semis ended in a tie: 50-50, Jean van Erp scored once in the decisive penalty from the break off.
Jean van Erp seems on his way to prolongate his victory of the last Grand Prix, but will meet a very strong opponent in the final. Barry van Beers excelled against Dick Jaspers with a great start (22-5 in seven innings, 38-21 in a later stage). Jaspers made a good comeback with runs of 3, 9 and 7 in the 20th, 21st and 22nd inning, but then had to bow for his opponent in the 26th inning: 50-46.
Raimond Burgman had to capitulate despite a wonderful run of twelve in his game against Jean van Erp.
