BC Deurne advances to the top of the ranking

MERKSEM - The triumph march of Johan Loncelle has surprised everyone, but was disrupted a few weeks ago by Roland Forthomme and this week by Dick Jaspers. The leader of 't Lammeken lost, his team was defeated by BC Deurne and lost the connection with the top three: 7-1.

De Ploeg played last night and won the away match against Lugo. Martin Horn (50-17 against Steven Buelens in 23 innings), Jef Philipoom (50-22 in 31 against Henk Habraken) and Jean van Erp (42-33 in 27 against Kai de zwart) made an excellent impression again. Wesley Jaeger, who seemed on his way back in the World Cup in Hurghada, played a poor match and lost 42-19 in 31 innings against Marc Janssen.

Michel van Camp was the only player in the team van 't Lammeken who collected a point; he tied against Jean Paul de Bruijn in 37 innings. Frans van Kuyk spoiled two matchpoints for his team in Leuven. He met a strong Roland Forthomme, who won 50-36 in only 24 innings with a run of fifteen, the highest of this session.]

BC Kasteeldreef, the number last in the ranking, was pretty close to a draw against BC Quality Zele. Eddy Merckx won his match against Patrick Kesteloot with only two points, Dirk Vlerick lost in a bad match (59 innings) against Piet Rodts (42-34) and Glenn Hofman played a draw against Tom Bracke: 42-42 in 41 innings. Peter de Backer shone like he did in Hurghada and triumphed by a large score (50-21).

BC Kortrijk booked an important win in the duel with Mr. 100 Lier. Kurt Ceulemans won the match of the team leaders against Ronny Brants 50-37 in 38 innings. Cédric Melnytschenko, the young French talent, defeated the young of Bart Ceulemans 42-29 in 34 innings.

BC Biljartvrienden and BC Herentals shared the points (4-4). Geert Meylemans was the best man of the evening, playing 1.448 average.
