WITTEN - In the German Bundesliga, BCC Witten can be crowned as the new champion today. The team with Eddy Leppens, Stefan Galla, Ronny Lindemann and Mark Dömer needs a win against Bergisch Gladbacher, the number two in the ranking. The competitor for the title lost two precious points in its yesterday match.
The leader in the ranks is three points ahead and can decide the championship in the 15th round.
Bergisch Gladbacher made a misstep yesterday on the fourteenth matchday in the away match against Bottroper BA (6-2). Martin Horn defeated on the main position Christian Rudolph (40-24 in 27), but at the other tables Glenn Hofman lost the Dutch bump against Dave van Geel (40-30, 34) and Cengiz Karaca defeated Hans-Jürgen Kühl, Dustin Jaschke bested Thomas Horcher.
BCC Witten closed the day beating BSV Wuppertal, amongst others thanks to a win by Eddy Leppens against Frank Martens (40-32 in 25).
BC Magdeburg overpowered BSV München 8-0 with Dion Nelin and Markus Schönhoff on the main positions in the team. Jean van Erp played a remarkable game against Jens Eggers in the match between BFR Sterkrade and GT Buer (6-2). The Dutchman led 14-1 after three innings, then made five points in 17 innings, trailed 37-19, but finished with 10, 2 and 9 (40-39).
