WITTEN - The BCC Witten has captured the title in the bundesliga. On the penultimate day of the competition the new champion defeated Bergisch Gladbach, the main competitor in the race, 6-2. Stefan Galla, Ronny Lindemann and Markus Dömer brought home the championship.

The maximum win in this deciding match was missed on one carom, because Eddy Leppens lost his match against Martin Horn 40-39 in 21 innings. The match level and the tension were high: BCC Witten recorded a team average of 1.472, Bergisch Gladbach 1.398.

BCC Witten took the lead in the first session by wins of Markus Dömer (31 innings) and Ronny Lindemann (30). Stefan Galla secured the title for his team by beating Glenn Hoffman 40-36 win in 26 innings. Martin Horn took the only victory for his team in his match against Eddy Leppens.

The BCC Witten could celebrate its first title in the history of the club. Bergisch Gladbach probably lacks the second place, because BA Bottroper now is one point ahead after the 4-4 against BSV Wuppertal.

Neustadt (9 points), Sterkrade (9) and Wuppertal (3) close the ranking with only one match to play.
