HOOGEVEEN - What could be more exciting than a replay of the final in the European championship one cushion between Frédéric Caudron and Jean Paul de Bruijn in Cervera. And what a wonderful finals we can expect with Patrick Niessen, Henry Tilleman, Esteve Mata and Raul Cuenca, four of the best players in the world in the disciplines balk-line: a dream final in the European championship for club teams.

The championship is going to be a match between the two undisputed best teams of the tournament in Hoogeveen. The Dutch Etikon won in the semifinals against Soissons, the Spanish Centelles defeated Oissel, what means that all the French favorites are out.

Henry Tilleman (Etikon) defeated in the 47/2 in the semis Frenchman Pierre Soumagne, Patrick Niessen won the match against Patrick Dupont in the 71/2. Jean Paul de Bruijn was close to the full win when he finished his match in one cushion, but Alain Remond equalized with a wonderful run. The Dutch team won the match 5-1.

Frédéric Caudron won for his team Centelles the match in one cushion 150-122 against Arnim Kahofer in six innings. Raul Cuenca showed his class against Fabio Venditelli, who he beat 300-11 in two innings in the 47/2. The match between Esteve Mata and John Petit was demolished at 187-141 in four innings, because Centelles already led 4-0.
