A Turkish referee waiting for the first matches

ISTANBUL - The last qualification day at the World Cup in Istanbul, this morning at 11.00 Turkish time (10.00 our time) is starting off with three brother twists at four Kozoom tables. Two Turks, two Koreans and two Vietnamese face each other in the first battles.

The playing room, in the preliminaries with twelve tables at two locations, is reduced to the main hall with four billiards and one with two tables. Kozoom will broadcast live at four tables in the main arena.

Twelve groups of three players, a total of 36, show up today for the last matches before the main event. Twelve group winners advance to the final rounds, together with four best runners-up from the group stages. That makes a total of sixteen, added to the top twelve players and four wildcards.

In the main arena, Lütfi Cenet starts this morning as the favourite in his group against Muhammed Cavusoglu. Third player in this group is the Korean Kim Jae Guen.

The Korean clash in this round is a match between Hyung Bum and Hwang Jae Ho Cho, two great players in the circuit.

The Vietnamese Vinh Ly The Anh and Anh Vu Duong battle at the third table and German Christian Rudolph meets the Egyptian Riad Nady.

At the two tables outside the arena, Murat Tüzül is playing against Jean Reverchon and another two Turks, Savas Bulut and Hakan Incekara cross swords.

In the second round, about one and a half hour later, again some interesting matches: Peter Ceulemans-Claus Foge, Orhan Erogul-Ruben Legazpi and Glenn Hofman-Murat Celik.
