Jérémy Bury and Adrien Tachoire, both winners of 4 sets

ANDERNOS - The French billiard federation is organizing the 3C Masters for six French top players this week. The preliminary rounds have been finished: Two players from two groups went on to the semi-finals. Gwendal Maréchal, a few weeks ago still brilliant in this format against Torbjörn Blomdahl, was surprisingly eliminated by Cédric Melnytschenko and Mikaël Devogelaere. Adrien Tachoire and Jérémy Bury qualified with equal sets wins in the other flight.

The event has been organized to celebrate the reopening of the billiard halls on Wednesday 9 June. The six players come into action at the Kozoom Studio in Andernos in the three-player format in one match to 9 sets of 10 points.

Jérémy Bury (Rétro Colmar), Gwendal Maréchal (Andernos), Cédric Melnytschenko (Albert), Mikaël Devogelaere (Rétro Colmar), Jérôme Barbeillon (Andernos) and Adrien Tachoire (Laxou) were the players invited.

The semi-finals will be played today in the Studio and will be broadcast tomorrow at 21.00 with a slight delay on the Sport en France channel. The final will be broadcast on Friday at 21.30 on the same channel with commentary by journalist Patrick Montel, who will be assisted for the technical part by Bernard Baudoin and occasionally by one of the 6 players present these three days.

In Group 2, the elimination of Gwendal Maréchal was the big surprise in the preliminaries. The French numbers 3 and 4, Melnytschenko and Devogelaere left the young promising player behind in third place. Cédric Melnytschenko won four sets, Mikaël Devogelaere won three sets, Maréchal two sets.

The ranking in Group 2:
1 Cédric Melnytchenko (Albert) 4-67-51-1,314-8
2 Devogelaere (Rétro Colmar) 3 - 58-50-1,160-4
3 Gwendal Maréchal (Andernos) 2-53-48-1,104-6

In Group 1, Jérémy Bury and Adrien Tachoire finished equal with both four sets won, Jérome Barbeillon only managed to win one set. A penalty shootout was needed to determine the first man in the group. Bury won that decisive series 2-0. Congratulations were in order for Adrien Tachoire, who won 3 consecutive sets at the beginning of the match.

The ranking in Group 1:
1 Jérémy Bury (Rétro Colmar) 4-66-44-1,500-7.
2 Adrien Tachoire (Laxou) 4-52-43-1,209-5
3 Jérôme Barbeillon (Andernos) 1-44-42-1,048-4
