ANNECY - Frédéric Caudron will meet Jérôme Barbeillon in the semifinals of the Billard Pro-Am 2014 in Annecy this afternoon at 14.00. On the other table, two world class players meet each other: Torbjörn Blomdahl and Dick Jaspers. The matches are broadcast live on Kozoom for all members.
The invitational tournament in the French tourist town turned out into a showdown with the four professional players in the last round. That was the result of two days of group matches.
Frédéric Caudron was the best of four groups on Saturday, with three wins and 2.100 average. The Belgian defeated Dominique Aubry (35-17 in 15), Guy Duplomb (35-18 in 22) and Jacques Jaumotte (35-9 in 13).
Dick Jaspers was the second best after Caudron. The Dutchman played (like Caudron) the best match in the preliminaries in thirteen innings. He defeated on his way to the final rounds French young talent Gwendal Marechal (35-19 in 19), Bruno Armand (35-14 in 26) and Laurent Tragin (35-4 in 13).
Torbjörn Blomdahl was group winner with victories over Olivier Jacquemond (35-12 in 20), Patrice Pinard (35-6 in 17) and Renaud Berrin (35-16 in 32). He finished with 1.521 average.
Jérôme Barbeillon qualified as fourth with wins in his group over Pascal Baup, Frédéric Papillon and Frédéric Saby (general average 1.174).
