Caudron impressively strong in top team Agipi

Frédéric Caudron had a very strong performance in his match against Peter Ceulemans.

SCHILTIGHEIM - Frédéric Caudron has put himself and the team of Agipi in title picture again. The Belgian top player was impressively strong in the home match against Albert, he defeated Peter Ceulemans thanks to a huge breakout after the eight inning. Jérémy Bury showed his great form before the break. The maximum victory of Agipi (8-0), the undefeated leader of the group, was never in danger.

Caudron attacked in his match against Ceulemans between the eighth and twelfth inning with runs of thirteen, ten and nine. He thus decreased his score from fourteen to 47 points. It was far enough to beat the young Ceulemans, who watched the demonstration of his compatriot with an admiring smile: 50-38 in 15 innings.

Ceulemans had a strong finish with a run of ten, which brought him to a high average of 2,333. He showed a better form after some bad weeks, but is was not enough to threat Caudron, who finished with 3.333 average.

Marco Zanetti secured the maximum score for Agipi by beating Kurt Ceulemans 50-35 in 34 innings. Jérémy Bury and Jean Christoph Roux forced the way to the overall win before the break. Bury again played superbly against Céd'ric Melnytschenko, whom he swept off the table last weekend in a tournament in Valence 50-11. His young opponent now closer by, but couldn't stop Bury at all: 50-29 in 19 innings, averaging 2.632, highest run of eleven.

Jean Christoph Roux won 50-40 in 43  innings to Olivier Jonard.
