Frédéric Caudron cracked his opponent by a stunning start.

MALLE - Well, that's a nice gesture, Frédéric Caudron must have thought at the start of his match against Kurt Ceulemans. Caudron lost the toss (the lag for who may start the game), but his opponent showed himself very 'gallant' and said: Caudron may start the match!

That was not a very lucky decision... Caudron broke off the match, kept on scoring points and only stopped his run after sixteen caroms! It was the apporach to a a high class win, by significant margin. Caudron closed the game 50-22 in 21 innings.

De Goeie Queue, his team, needed that win very hard, as it was with Eddy Leppens' victory at the other table, because before the break, the visitors, Mr. 100 Lier, were 4-0 on the lead: Raymond Ceulemans defeated his grandson Peter 42-40 in 32 innings and Koen Ceulemans rolled over Roger Roefs, the man 'on four' who started the competition at a snail's pace: 42-22 in 46.

Eddy Leppens also had a tremendous start in his match against Bart Ceulemans: twelve points from the break and also 50 points in 21 innings. He said after his win: ,,I was very motivated when I came to the table. Michel van Camp announced me and said: Eddy Leppens is not in top form so far, except in the triathlon in the Czech Republic. He could not do better to pep me up for the match. I play 2.300 average in Belgium and 1.830 in the Netherlands. What can I do more than that, I guess.''

With three points out of three matches (three times 4-4), De Goeie Queue nevertheless is in the middle of the ranking after three rounds. The same as the opponent, Mr. 100.

TBA Biljartpalace and BC Quality, two teams in the lower part of the ranks, played a draw in a match that went up and down. Raimond Burgman (average 1.351) escaped to victory in a head to head race with Dave Christiani (50-43), Ronny Daniels won his match against Tommy Raemdonck for the home team (42-18 in 41).

Honoré Raemdonck pulled off the win in a vale-of-tears match against Hans van der Wurf: 42-30 in 66 innings and Emilio Sciacca bested his opponent John Tijssens include a run of ten.
