The Agipi won the title again in a final against Laxou.

SHILTIGHEIM - Don't say that the Agipi team had no opposition this weekend in the playoffs of the French championship, because they had to compete with players such as Torbjörn Blomdahl, Martin Horn, Dick Jaspers, Filipos Kasidokostas, Roland Forthomme and Peter De Backer. But even in this exceptionally strong field the champion was inaccessible again.

Agipi shone in his own arena in all his glory with victories over Kozoom in the semis and Laxou in the final. And not only the front players of the team made thea difference. Jérémy Bury is such an amazing strong third man behind Frédéric Caudron and Marco Zanetti and Jean-Christoph Roux recovered very well after a weak start and won his two next matches in great style.

Frédéric Caudron had his highlights in the double against Roland Forthomme, which he both won in 23 innings and over two average. On the last day, in the final which wasn't of that high level, the Belgium mad a crucial run at the end and then defeated Torbjörn Blomdahl 50-47 in 32.

Marco Zanetti helped his team to the final with two solid wins against Peter De Backer. He could afford himself a loss against Martin Horn in a close finish (50-47 in 33).

Agipi and Laxou will play in the European cup next year. If Agipi wins the Cup for the eighth time, Kozoom will be the third French team to play the preliminaries.
