Francis Connesson: two victories in the prestigious battle with Pierre Soumagne.

CHATILLON - The prestigious duel between Francis Connesson and Pierre Soumagne, part of the match between Andernos and Laxou in the championship of France, has finished by far in favor of Connesson, the former champion in the balkline disciplines. The purified French player overclassed the young talent Soumagne, yesterday as well as this afternoon.

Andernos took an advantage of 4-0 in the first session of the afternoon in Chatillon, south of Paris. The semi final match between Laxou and Andernos yesterday ended in 4-4. Torbjörn Blomdahl and Martin Horn took the wins for Laxou, Connesson and Marc Boigneres for Andernos. The winner after two meetings (yesterday and today) will play the final against the winner of the match between Agipi and Clichy Montmartre for the title.

Blomdahl and Horn can't afford any misstep after the 4-0 during the break. Blomdahl is now playing against Roland Forthomme, Horn against Peter de Backer, whom he had defeated yesterday with a difference of one carom.

Connesson didn't reach the level of yesterday (1.724 average), but kept Soumagne with 50-26 in 34 innings far behind. Marc Boigneres won the match against Eric Kremer 50-36 in 47 innings. Kremer plays instead of Thierry Amar, who had to cancel because of his work. He probably will not play for Laxou next season.
