Dani Sánchez celebrates his 20th Spanish titel with the other final players

MADRID - Dani Sánchez has captured the Spanish three cushion title for the 20th time in his career. That happened this Sunday in the final against Ricardo Garcia in a superior match. Sánchez won 40-14 in 13 innings and again left no doubt about being the best Spanish billiard player ever.

The road to the title first took the four-time world champion past José Vicente Gabarri, who was beaten 40-24 in 24. In the next round with 16, Sánchez was by far the best against Valentín Andaluz Antón with 40-20 in 25 innings.

In the quarter final, the mission was a little more difficult, but Jaime Sanchez Faraco was overpowered in the final part of the match 40-34 in 20. In the semi-finals, Sánchez grew to his best form playing against Adrián Legazpi: 40-19 in 15 and a highest run of 16.

Dani's main competitors were Ruben Legazpi (Spanish champion in 2018 and 2019) and Antonio Montes, obviously in the absence of PBA players Javier Palazón, Juan David Zapata and David Martinez.

Ruben Legazpi lost in the semi-finals to Garcia Alarcón 40-38 in 25 despite a run of 11. Antonio Montes was eliminated in the quarter finals by Adrián Legazpi 40-33 in 32.

The 20 Spanish championships of Dani Sánchez were won in 1994, then from 1998 to 2009 (12 in a row), from 2012 to 2016 (5 in a row), in 2020 and 2021.
