Dion Nelin shows best form on last day

Dion Nelin finished with a great match: 50 caroms in only seventeen innings.

DEURNE - The highest league in Belgium is closed with a 8-0 victory for champions BC Deurne this week. Dion Nelin signed for the best match (2.941, run of fourteen) and BC Deurne, KBC Zanzibar and BC Geox Herenals finshed in top three of the ranking. Koninklijke Eeklose and Op de Meir play in the second division next season. BC Lugo Deurne must try to survive in the playoffs.

BC Deurne celibrated the title with a party on the final day and said farewell tot the leading players Eddy Merckx and Jef Philipoom, who both had a great season. That was demonstrated again on this final day with two big victories, moreover, also Ludo Dielis and Davy van Havere reached a high level.

KBC Zanzibar played without much motivation in the last game against the BC De Ploeg. Roland Forthomme finished six caroms behind Martin Horn, who made a run of eleven, Jimmy Mues lost to Wesley de Jaeger and substitute Jean-Louis Steuts even played less than half average against Bart Ceulemans. Only Dave Christiani won his match against Allan Jensen.

Frédéric Caudron for Kasteeldreef demonstrated his rising form of last weeks with a great victory over Ronnie Brants: 50-35 in 19 innings. Eddy Leppens defeated Henk Blauwblomme and Peter Duytschaever won more or less surprisingly against Richard Bitalis.

BC Lugo and BC Geox shared the points with a strong Dion Nelin against Martin Spoormans. The Dane finished his 50 caroms in only seventeen innings.

Billiart Express beat BC Quality Zele, where Jean-Paul de Bruijn is replaced by Eddy Merckx next season. Peter de Backer lost to Frans van Kuijk, Jean-Paul de Bruijn came two points behind Gerwin Valentijn to the finish.

Mister 100 Lier didn't have a best final day. Only Kurt Ceulemans showed a better form than his teammates with a superb win against Kees Wittens: 50-24 in 25 innings.
