Bart Ceulemans was knocked down by Martin Spoormans

HOOGLEDE - Two 'Ceulemansen' are already out of the game after one round in the Belgian Cup. Peter Ceulemans was surprisingly eliminated by Ronny Brants, at the same time his younger brother Bart Ceulemans was thrown out of the tourney in the match against Martin Spoormans.

Ronny Brants and Peter Ceulemans played a curious match against each other. After the first set, won bij Brants 15-7 in 12 innings, Ceulemans had a furious start in the second and bested his opponent 15-0 in 6.

He was preparing for the knock-down, but in the third and decisive Brants was unstoppable. He sprinted to a superb win: 15-1 in seven innings.

Bart Ceulemans had only one a chance to break the ice after the 15-4 loss in seven innings. When Spoormans, after one of his infamous lucky shots, missed his set ball at 14-13, the young Ceulemans scored once. He couldn't finish the set, Spoormans escaped and took the win.

Martin Spoormans was the best winner of the first rounds with 1.304. Jef Philipoom started 2-0 against Philip Coenen, 1.250 average.

The eight players who remained from the sixteen in this part of the schedule meet in the next round:

Kenny Miatton - Henk Blauwblomme

Martin Spoormans - Thomas Broux

Rudy de Laet - Jef Philipoom

Bart Leys - Ronny Brants.
