Robinson Morales, the champion of Colombia, overwhelmed in his first appearance Jérémy Bury. The Frenchman was during the whole match not strong enough to threaten his opponent and played just a little above one average. Morales won 15-9 in the fourth set and finished with an average of 1.486.

The two Dutch played played the fastest matches of the morning session. Jaspers led 2-0 after two sets, started the third from the break-off with eight, but lost the set in a difficult phase with a lot of bad luck and bad positions. ,,If you have seen it, you can't believe it'', he said after the match.

The Korean seemed to have found his rhythm, started strong again in the fourth set, but then Jaspers attacked with a run of eleven taken a big advantage. Lee could threaten him at the end at 14-13, but Jaspers used his second matchbal to finish te match, 3-1, 1.806 average, for Lee 1.333.

Dave Christiani dominated the match against Umeda from the start with two sets ahead (15-13, 15-11), the Japanese could fought back and show his class only once, in the third set, but then was knocked out in the last set by the Dutchman.
