Roland Forthomme, the perfect run of fifteen, but nevertheless out of the tournament.

The level was exceptionally high, the averages nearly constant over two and Roland Forthomme (the loser) even made a maximum run of fifteen in his match with Dick Jaspers. It wasn't enough for the Belgian compatitor to win the match. Jaspers defeated his opponent 3-1 (15-5, 15-9, 6-15 and 15-9), in his winning mood he was simply the best.

The perfect run of fifteen Roland Forthomme made, was the second in this tournament. Murat Naci Coklu did it earlier in the qualifying rounds, also for him he was dropped out of the tournament after his high run.

Roland Forthomme made the fifteen in the third set, when Jaspers seemed already on his way to victory. He started with a 15-5 in four runnings with a run of ten in the first set, 15-9 in eight innings in the second and then was 6-0 leading in the third set.

But then Forthomme suddenly rose above himself. In full concentration the Belgian kept scoring, he only stopped when the referee had announced fifteen. There was a little sign of joy in his eyes, but then, unfortunately, he missed the breakshot in the fourth set.

In the cycle of four tournaments for the World Cup this year, the run of Forthomme was the third. Murat Naci Coklu also did it in Hurghada, the Korean Bong-Soo Kim in the tournament of Suwon.
In Antalya the highest run was made by Kouji Funaki with thirteen, in Matosinhos for Tasdemir, also thirteen.
