The sixteen players for the final rounds in the Carom Cafe

NEW YORK - The sixteen finalists at the American three-cushion championship have started off a new round with four groups of four this morning (10.00 in New York). Four players in five groups of seven remained unbeaten in the preliminaries. Pedro Piedrabuena, Miguel Torres, Hugo Patino and Sonny Cho took the maximum gain and show up in the groups, in which sixteen players are divided into four groups. The fifth group winner was Jae Hyung Cho.

The most remarkable absentee in the finals, played in the Carom Cafe in Flushing, New York, is Mazin Shooni, who finished fourth in his group. The top three from each group advanced with one fourth best: John Cristiano.

The four groups starting the battle for the eight final spots in matches to 35 points:
