Frédéric Caudron in a run of fourhundred to the title in 47/1.

BLANKENBERGE - The beauty of his last match gave all the glamour to the title he won. In front of an audience, watching breathless, followed by a  thunderous applause, Frédéric Caudron finished his last match in the most difficult balk-line (47/1) in one inning this afternoon.

He remained unbeaten in this discipline, so he grabbed his second championship (after one cushion), because Caudron will win this discipline on matchpoints, or for sure on average. Two titles won, two more to go, that's the state for the Belgian state phenomenon now.

Frédéric Caudron responded after his one-inning demonstration as he usually does: pleasant to listen for the viewers, modest and without much emotion, for he is so accustomed to win, especially in this championship and in this discipline.

Just look at the Belgian list of honor: Caudron won the championship 47/1 thirteen times in a now now and seventeen times in total since 1991 in Lokeren. The winning run was only interrupted by Eddy Leppens (once) and Patrick Niessen (four times).

Caudron's highest overall average in Blankenberge he played in 2010 was 133.33. In that tournament he finished before Eddy Leppens and Peter De Backer.

This week he prevailed again with a great score: eight match points in four matches, 800 caroms in nine innings, average 88.88, highest run four hundred. One match in four innings (against Leppens), two in two (against De Backer and Niessen) and one in one inning against Deraes.

Eddy Leppens was second in the ranking with six points, Patrick Niessen third before Peter De Backer and Philippe Deraes.
