BAD WILDUNGEN - The German junior billiard championships started in the German town of Bad Wildungen. The youth president of the German billiards federation, Lukas Blondeel, spoke the opening words and put an end to the forced break of more than two years in which no German championships were played because of Corona.

As in 2019, the DBU once again managed to contract the Wandelhalle in Bad Wildungen for the junior and youth title competition. The senior championship follows directly after the youth event. So on Thursday 28 October, when the final decisions have been made in the junior championship, it is the men's and women's turn to play for the national titles. Some 200 youth players have qualified in the various disciplines of carom, snooker, pool and 5-pins. They will compete for 36 gold medals.

The German Men's Three-cushion championship will be played from 4 to 7 November. The best-known players are Martin Horn, Ronny Lindemann, Dustin Jäschke, Tobias Bouerdick, Cengiz Karaka, Tom Löwe and Wolfgang Zenkner.

With a total duration of the two championships, 17 playing days in a row, this national event is one of the biggest in the history of billiards. More than 500 players will compete for a total of 60 titles.
