LAUSANNE - The elite of global three cushion is running into four major challenges towards the end of 2019. The most important mission is the World championship in Randers, Denmark, from 26 to 30 November. This weekend, 12 players will first complete the Lausanne Billard Masters, after the World championship, the World Cup in Sharm El Sheikh is coming up (8-14 December) and to close the Continental Cup in Korea from 20-22 December. Dick Jaspers' world title is at stake, followed by the overall victory in the World Cup cycle, where Tayfun Tasdemir and Eddy Merckx are the main contenders.

The invitational tournament in Lausanne, with its 140,000 inhabitants on the shores of Lake Geneva, is a nice warm-up for the official closing of 2019. With nine players from the world top, the women's world champion, a young French promise and a Swiss wildcard player, the prestigious tournament faces two other attractive days. Two rounds have been played in two of three groups with four players, the third group has started the catch-up round this morning (Saturday).

Martin Horn, Marco Zanetti and Semih Sayginer are the front-runners, seven of eight players will join Horn this afternoon. The German is the only palayer so far who is certain of a place among the best eight. Two players are almost certainly eliminated: Michel Boulaz and Maxime Panaia.

Kozoom starts the Saturday with a photo collage of the first day and the start of the second day, including the matches between Dani Sánchez and Therese Klompenhouwer and the Turkish clash between Tayfun Tasdemir and Semih Sayginer. Tonight at 19.00 and 21.15, the first two matches of the quarterfinals can be followed directly on Kozoom.
