Huub Wilkowski best of qualifiers on first day

HURGHADA - The Dutchman Huub Wilkowski, Michael Todahl (Danmark), Wilco van Wijk (the Netherlands) and Haeng Jik Kim, the junior world champion from Korea were the best players on day one of the qualifications. The top two played over one average, Huub Wilkowski 1.153, Michael Todahl 1.052. Haeng Jik Kim had a good start, but needed 23 innings for his last set against Belgian Frans Sysmans.

Huub Wilkowski was ranked with two other Dutchmen in his group. The Belgians had three qualifiers, the Egypts two on the first day.

The twelve winners of the groups were Huub Wilkowsky (Netherlands), Haeng Jik Kim (Korea), Michael Todahl (Germany), Wilco van Wijk (the Netherlands), Rudi Hendrickx (Belgium), Ali Hegazi (Egypt), Marcel van Berkel (the Netherlands), Vincent Eugene (Belgium), Ben Thijssen (the Netherlands), Ingo Fischr (Danmark), Ragai Henri (Egypt), Dirk Muylaert (Belgium).

Tomorrow twelve other groups play for qualification. The Belgians Wesley de Jaeger and Bart Ceulemans are the most known of them.
