Dick Jaspers answers a run of sixteen of Caudron with a flawless finish.

They seemed to be very kind to each other, not afraid to take some risks, looked admiringly when the opponent made a high run or a good carom and both coud take a nice price money afterwards. Dick Jaspers was the winner in the match against Frédéric Caudron, although the Belgian made a superb run of sixteen at three innings before the end, which brought him even close to Jaspers.

The Dutchman finally took the victory with a finishing run of six (50-42 in fifteen innings). It looked like a training match with two very relaxed players at the billiard. ,,There was not su much pressure'', said Jaspers. The averages nevertheless were very high: Jaspers ended with 3.333, Caudron with 3.000. The match himself was only important for the second part of the rankings. Jaspers continues after his victory the race for fifth place, Caudron will play tomorrow for the seventh and eighth place.

The disappointment was clear when they appeared to the table. Jaspers lost his battle with Filipos Kasidokostas by a final run of 21 yesterday evening, Caudron was eliminated in the prestigious match against Zanetti.

For Zanetti it was the revenge for last year, when he was eliminated in the semis by his teammate, who thereafter lost the final against Dick Jaspers. The Dutchman misses for the first time in four Agipi tournaments the final.

Jaspers had the best start against Caudron this afternoon. He took a quick lead (22-13 and then 36-14 in ten innings). In the thirteenth inning the Begian made his run of sixteem, came up to 42-39, but two innings later Jaspers finished with six: 50-42. It was, in an empty house and in a training in any case a match which yielded quite more than thousend euros each.
