Matches during the Japan Cup

TOKYO - The Korean layer Jae Ho Cho is the winner of the 26th Japan Cup. The tournament was played in the Kobayashi Club in Tokyo with 48 participants, including Dani Sánchez, winner of the last World Cup in Guri and twice winner of the Japan Cup, the Koreans Jae Ho Cho, Choong-Bok Lee, Hyun Suk Kim, Dunk-Hee Hwang and Dae-Shin Kwon and all known Japanese as Ryuuji Umeda, O Takeshima and Kouji Funaki.

Jae Ho Cho defeated Dani Sanchez in the semi-finals 30-26 in 13 innings. Tokuyoki Tanabi won the other semi-final against Hideaki Kobayashi 30-12 in 22 innings.

Tanabi had a lightning start in the final against Cho: 9-0 in three innings. From then the Korean turned the match around with scores of 10 (8th inning), fifth (10th) and fifth (13th). Cho triumphed 30-20 in 17 innings.

Dani Sánchez stayes for a few weeks in Korea and Japan after he won the World Cup in Guri and made some touristic trips: here the Spaniard on the Tokyo Sky tree.
