AMSTERDAM - Jean van Erp, the winner of the second and last Grand Prix this year, will meet Raimond Burgman this afternoon in the semifinals of the Elite Ranking Tournament in Osdorp. Dick Jaspers plays against Barry van Beers in the other match.
Jaspers defeated a former Dutch champion in the quarter finals: Jean Paul de Bruijn. The match was in balance for a long time, until Jaspers attacked in the 20th and 26th inning with runs of six and seven. The final score was 50-39 in 34 innings.
Therese Klompenhouwer was stopped in her triumph march by Barry van Beers, who made the gap with a run of eight in the 38th inning. Van Beers won 50-43 in 47.
Jean van Erp again showed his form and defeated Herman Slikker 50-29 in 30 innings. Raimond Burgman dominated the whole duel with Jan Arnouts and finished 50-29 in 38.
