Jean Reverchon won his fourteenthe French title.

SCHILTIGHEIM - All superlatives have been used already for Jean Reverchon in French artistic billiard. This afternoon the player from Paris, who also is a respectable player in three-cushion, took his fourteenth French title in Schiltigheim since 1987. That showed again that Reverchon belongs to the unsurpassed experts in this discipline with three world titles, one European championship and numerous Grand Prix victories.

With a score of 81.14 percent, Reverchon beat the record of his country, which can be seen as a great performance. Reverchon seeded after a hard struggle, in the sem finals against one of his main challengers: Michael Hammen from Florange. Reverchon defeated that opponent in three sets.

In the finals he met Jean Luc Miller, who won the first set after a weak begin of Reverchon, but he repared quickly and beat his opponent in the following three sets.

With the level he showed in this championship, Jean Reverchon certainly will be one of the most prominent players in an invitation tournament from 9 untill 11 September in the Spanish Gandia. The event will consist of three matches: the first is the classical artistiek, the second classical fantasy play, where the positions are placed by the players themselves. The third point is a position layed on the table by the organizer.

Jean Reverchon is accompanied by Roberto Rojas, Mike Massey, Juan Carlos Cuadrado, Miguel Torres, Santo Viglianesi, Martin van Rhee and Venom Florian Kohler, the best players in the fantasy and artistic discipline. The tournament has a prize money of 19.000 euros and must be a new impuls for artistic billiard.
