Karma team achieves double success in France

ANDERNOS - Three teams came into action this weekend, Friday and Saturday, for the second day of the French series games teams championship. The Karma team from Andernos, Douai and Douarnenez Valdys played each other. The Karma home team with Jérémie Picart, Xavier Carrer and Bernard Baudoin won both matches with a 4-2 score. That was an unexpected victory for the team that includes the owner, the sponsor and the French journalist of Kozoom.

In the first match between Karma and Valdys, Xavier Carrer managed to beat the Dutch balk-line master Raymund Swertz in a captivating final sprint in the game discipline 71/2: 200-195 in 21 innings. Jérémie Picart achieved a second individual success facing Benoît Deziles-Legros in the balk-line 47/2 with 250-202 in 16 innings. It was a sensational score for the home team, as the two players of the three-time French and European champion were unable to convert their qualities into wins.

Gregory Le Deventec did win the match against Bernard Baudoin 120-110 in 15 innings.
Karma-Valdys 4-2

On the second day, Valdys showed his high class with a 5-1 victory against Douai. Raymund Swertz played a perfect game in the 71/2 with a run of 171. Swertz finished against Pascal Dessaint 200-78 in 3 innings. Benoît Deziles-Legros was the first to reach the finish against Olivier Careaux in the 47/2 with 250 in 5 innings, but Careaux managed to equalize.
Gregory Le Deventec went to the second victory against Alain Remond in one cushion: 120-62 in 21 innings.
Valdys-Douai 5-1

The last match between Karma and Douai started with a 47/2 match between Jérémie Picart and Olivier Careaux. The Andernosian started with 43, the now Strasbourg resident Careaux quickly found his rhythm and made the perfect run of 250 in one inning.

The last two matches were Alain Remond against Bernard Baudoin in one cuishion, Pascal Dessaint against Xavier Carrer in 71/2. Douai had to win one of those two matches, but Andernos took the win anyway.

Bernard Baudoin conquered the first two points for his team with a 120-85 in 15 in one cushion. Then Xavier Carrer remained unbeaten for his team in the 71/2 by winning against Pascal Dessaint in 11 innings 200-122. The double victory for the home team was a nice birthday present for the team captain Bernard Baudoin.
Karma-Douai 4-2

As for the individual performances, Grégory Le Deventec (6,67 in one cushion) and Xavier Carrer (12,50 in 71/2) achieved the maximum 4 match points, Olivier Careaux (83,33 in 47/2 over two matches) also remained unbeaten on this day with 3 match points.

In the rankings, Ronchin and Karma have 4 points, Valdys and Douai 2 points. Ronchin and Valdys have only played one match, Karma and Douai have completed two rounds.

Day 3 will be played in Ronchin in the weekend of 29 January 2022 without the team of Andernos Karma. The 4th and final day will be played in Douarnenez in the weekend of 7 May 2022 without the Douai team.
