Korean chairman Nam will take his responsibility and said to resign

SEOUL - The agreement between two Korean parties, KBF (Korean Billiards Federation) and PBA (Professional Billiard Association) seems to be cancelled. The contract for a win-win deal in Korean billiards was signed in a hotel in Seoul in February this year. The agreement was now rejected by majority vote at a KBF meeting in Seoul. The KBF chairman Nam Sam-hyun, subsequently announced his resignation. That has been confirmed by sources in Korea.

The KBF meeting at the Olympic Park hotel in Songpa-gu, Seoul, was attended by 16 of the 18 delegates. Two members voted in favour of the agreement, 14 voted against. The initial agreement followed a conflict between KBF (one of the UMB federations) and the PBA. The cooperation had the intention to stimulate the joint development of billiards in Korea. A few weeks ago, the plans led to players protests. The discussion point was mainly about allowing to participate in PBA tournaments and the disciplinary measures against players.

The KBF initially stated that there was nothing against an agreement between UMB and non-UMB-related organizations, which expanded the exchange between registered players and increased the possibility of participation. After the overwhelming difference of votes at the KBF meeting, the observance of the win-win agreement with the PBA has been cancelled for the time being. President Nam said: "I will take responsibility for what happened." President Nam's sudden resignation caused big confusion in the federation.
