Kyung-Roul Kim and Sung-Won Choi are the gold tiggers for the time being.

SCHILTIGHEIM - The revenge of Frédéric Caudron after his misstep in his first match was expected. The Belgian beat Kyung-Roul Kim in his second performance tonight and saw that the game was on now in his group, in which Sung-Won Choi won his duel with Nikos Polychronopoulos at the other table (50-44 in 26 innings).

Very remarkable was also that only the Koreans were the gold diggers on the first day of the qualifying round. Sung-Won Choi (10 and 11) and Kyung-Roul Kim (twice 10) could pick up the first bonuses of 500 euros.

Eddy Merckx and Jérémy Bury lead their group, in which Dani Sánchez has not played so far. Jef Philipoom is unbeaten in the other group after one match. Frédéric Caudron, Sung-Won Choi and Kyung-Roul Kim gathered two match points in two matches.

Frédéric Caudron seemed to override the speed limits in his evening which, while Nikos Polychronopoulos tried to do that at the other table, but it wasn't his day. The Belgian finished his match almost half an hour before, but said later that he lacked a strong sense to the balls and he missed the good feeling.

,,I missed the wright concentration today,'' he said after his win of 50-38 in 26 innings against Kim, in which Caudron laid the basis with a run of nine in the fourth inning and led the match by 26-9.

It took too long before he could find his perfect rhythm in the second part. ,,I played some balls, of which I knew already before the departure that they were not good, or didn't have the good speed'', said Caudron, who nevertheless received a standing applause for his 44th birthday and the victory in the match.
