Luis Aveiga won the Manizales Grand Prix in the final against Alexander Salazar

MANIZALES - In a field with fifteen of the best Colombian player, Luis Aveiga from Ecuador has won the Manizales Grand Prix Manizales, one of the most prestigious tournaments in South America. Aveiga defeated in the final Alexander Salazar 3-1.

The tournament had a prize money of $ 13,000, the winner was rewarded by $ 4.500. It was the third time Aveiga won the tournament.

The Ecuadorian player came up to the final after beating Gabriel Vasquez in the second round (1.579), Carlos Campino in the quarterfinals (1.364), Carlos Villegas in the semis (1/579) and in the final Alexander Salazar in the final with 12-15 (16), 15-14 (10), 6-15 (10), 15-4 (6) and 15-13 (13). During that final match a pigeon was slowly walking under the billiard.

Third and fourth in the ranks were  Heriberto Aristizabal and Carlos Mario Villegas, Aristizabal was defeated by Salazar in the semifinals 2-0 (15-10, 15-8), Villegas lost to Aveiga 15-4, 15-7.

Thousands of billiard fans watched the tournament on Kozoom during six days.
