Manuel Lindao takes his second Pan American title

LIMA - Manuel Lindao from Ecuador has conquered the Pan American junior title for the second time in his career. The championship was played at the headquarters of the Peruvian Billiards Federation in Lima. With his title Lindao showed to be one of the contenders for the junior World championship that is played in Guri, Korea in September.

The final turned out into an encounter between Manuel Lindao and David Mogollon from Colombia. The later champion played a great match in the semi-finals when he beat Colombian Camilo Sarmiento, 30-11 in 12 innings (2.500).

David Mogollon defeated his countryman Maicol Aristizabal in the other semi 30-20 in 36 innings.

The two stars of the tournament, Manuel Lindao, former Pan American youth champion and David Mogollon, Colombia's junior champion, played an exciting finale. The Ecuadorian junior showed his experience in the final phase.

Mogollon sparkled with a great start, 12-1 in the first innings, ran out to 15-4 in eleven innings. Then Lindao took the initiative for a comeback in the match and defeated his opponent at 27-23 with a run of seven (30-27 in 32 innings). Lindao finished with 1.125 general average.

The juvenile Pan American championships were scheduled for the end of August, but were played earlier because of the World championship in Guri. The senior Pan American championships will be held between 23rd and 30th of August.
