Marco Zanetti meets Big Kim in semis

Korean player Kyung Roul Kim had a kickstart and defeated Murat Naci Coklu 40-16

CALI - Two of four players for the semi-finalis in three cushion at the World Games in Cali are known: Marco Zanetti and Kyung Roul Kim meet each other tomorrow (Monday) for a place in the final.

Two other matches have to point two players for the other semi-final: Dick Jaspers plays against his compatriot Glenn Hoffman, Eddy Merckx closes the day with Sameh Sidhom as his opponent.

The European champion Zanetti qualified as first in the earliest day session. He defeated Christian Rudolph, against whom he also played the final of the European championship. The Italian won again: 40-21 in 25 innings.

The German took an early lead 13-4 in six innings, but then saw Zanetti come along at 20-15 and 38-20. Zanetti reached the finish line without any problem.

Kyung Roul Kim was delighted to kickstart the match against Coklu with four and nine in his first two innings (13-1). The Korean continued with some small runs and ran out to 26-8 in eleven and 38-16 in 16 innings. Coklu had a complete off day, made a six run in the thirteenth inning, but couldn't threaten Big Kim on his way to victory.
