Gwendal Marechal tops the ranking after the preliminaries in the French championship

LA BAULE - The French championship three-cushion for juniors has reached the final rounds in La Baule. The quarter finals start at 11.00 this morning in the same venue as the World Cup tournament. Four players are left from the group matches and quarter-finals. Gwendal Marechal tops the rankings with 1.111 of average ahead of Adrie Tachoire 0.963, Jean Haby 0.888 and Maxime Panaia 0.784.

Gwendal Marechal plays in the semifinals against Jean Haby, Adrien Tachoire faces Maxime Panaia.

Three players remained unbeaten in the group matches: Gwendal Marechal, Adrien Tachoire and Maxime Panaia. In the quarterfinals Marechal beat Nathan Duriez by a big margin: 30-9 in 16 innings. Adrien Tachoire bested Thomas Le Coat by one carom (30-29 in 28), Jean Haby had a slightly better final sprint than Enzo Riquart (30-28 in 30) and Maxime Panaia defeated Benjamin Montuyt 30-28 in 32.
