Marek Faus on high level in Holland: 71/2 matches in one and three innings.

KWADENDAMME - The Czech player Marek Faus, who made a long trip to Holland (Kwadendamme) for two matches in balkline 71/2, didn't show any kind of fatigue at the table. In the top team league, where he plays for Topteam Berkelland, he was the best player of the weekend with matches to 150 caroms in three and in one inning. Ian van Krieken, who was the opponent, even was not so bad.

Marek Faus could already finish in one in his first match. The Czech made a small misstep when he had gathered 134 caroms. In the second match he showed his high class with 150 from the break-off. Ian van Krieken scored 53 and 86 points.

Team boss Dinand Princen from Topteam Berkelland: ,,Marek belongs to the basic of our team. He sleeps in our hotel on Fridays and goes back to the Czech Republic on Sunday. His sponsor, Mr. Vitek, wants him to play her and it very happy with his performance in Holland.''

The Haarlo team lost one precious point in the double away match against 's Landswelvaren because Roij van Raaij was defeated in his second 47/2 match by Peter de Bree (200-110 in ten) and Eddy Leppens was not a shadow of the player he uses to be in his one cushion match against Francis Forton. Leppens won the first game 100-18 cushion in 9, but was defeated in the second tour 100-50 in 17 innings (2.94 of average for Leppens).

,,I looked at the scoreboard after six innings'', Forton said later. ,,And I saw that I had made 58 points and Eddy almost nothing. Then I suddenly felt that I could win. I did not leave so much on the table, of course.''

A1 Biljarts remained unbeaten by two wins over BIOS/Blitz Optiek 6-0 and 4-2. Only Fabian Blondeel took one match in one cushion against Michel Silfhout: 100-98 in 14. Raymund Swertz was superior in the 71/2 against René Tull, twice in two innings. Ludger Havlik remained unbeaten in the 47/2 against Erik van der Linden.

Etikon is still close behind the leaders by a double victory over Dibo the City. Therefore, the formation of Bennie Deegens climbed to third place. Team captain Patrick Niessen was the best player of the day for his team. Both times he won his 71/2 matches in three innings against Dennis Timmers.

Bennie Deegens could play with Henri Tilleman, who played two matches against Dave Christiani in one cushion. The two players were in balance: Tilleman won 100 to 83 in nine, Christiani won the second encounter 100-75 in nine.

The youthful talent Ferry Young lost his first in 47/2 against René Luijsterburg in 12 and took revenge in the second 200-95 in four.
