BAD WILDUNGEN - Martin Horn successfully defended the national three cushion title in Germany. In the final, just like last year against Ronny Lindemann, Horn defeated his opponent by an impressive 40-13 in 20 innings. The final day of the champion and best German player by a distance was absolutely world-class. In three consecutive matches, the old and new champion played 2.307 on average.

The road to gold for Martin Horn started with a first game against Wolfgang Zenkner. With a final run of 10, he beat the former national coach 30-12 in 16. Horn then faced Zenkner again in the quarter-finals. That turned out into the best match of the tournament: 40-20 in 14 for the unapproachable Horn. Earlier, Horn also successfully survived the round of 16 against teammate Norbert Roestel (40-28 in 26).

The supremacy continued in the semi-final for the defending champion. In 18 innings, he beat Cengiz Karaca by an unprecedented score: 40-6. In the other semi-final, Ronny Lindemann won over Jens Eggers 40-15 in 31.

The final was another demonstration of superb class by Martin Horn. He immediately took the initiative and already led 18-3 in 7 innings. Lindemann could not close that gap and thus lost like last year against the best German. Cengiz Karaca, like Horn from BC International, and Jens Eggers finished on the podium with Horn and Lindemann. With Tobias Bouerdick and Marcel Back, two young players were eliminated in the quarter-finals.

Katja Titze captured the women's title ahead of Steffi Träm, Sara Kroke and Gloria Abbenath. Titze won the final against Träm 20-13 in 35 innings.
