Martin Spoormans defeated his countryman De Backer to the finish

PARIS - The fifth and penultimate round in the French championship for teams still has not been decided regarding two places for the play-offs. Even after its strong start, Laxou has not secured a place in the final rounds. The ranking at the end of the weekend was that Laxou is on top with six, Saint-Maur has five and Kozoom four points.

The two matches finished as in Group A, with a score of 4-4. Saint Maur restrained Laxou, Kozoom played a draw against Gravelines. The final round is on 8 April between Laxou and Gravelines and on May 30 with Saint-Maur against Kozoom.

The leader Laxou played the draw against Saint Maur thanks to Torbjörn Blomdahl, who beat Jérémy Bury (50-30 in 28) and Martin Horn, winner against Jean Christophe Roux (50-38 in 32). Thierry Roxo (beat Pierre Soumagne 50-49) and Louis Edelin (victory vs Eric Kremer-Leclaire 50-37) scored for Saint Maur.

Martin Spoormans eventually secured the draw for his team Gravelines in the away match against Kozoom. Frédéric Mottet and Marc Boigneres defeated Ronnie Daniels and Frédéric Roland in 47 and 42 innings. Gilles Stopin is still a real winner and defeated Bernard Baudoin. The decision had to fall in the Belgian battle between Peter De Backer and Martin Spoormans. The never-give-up Belgian made the final four points when De Backer missed his last: 50-49 in 36.
