Mister 100 enters winter break as front runner

SINT NIKLAAS - The frontrunner of the Belgian team competition, Mister 100 Lier, goes into the winter break as frontrunner and autumn champion with a resounding 8-0 win in the away game against De Witte Molen in Sint Niklaas. The season restarts on 17 January if the COVID measures allow it. As is announced this week, the Belgian Multi Championships from 9-16 January are cancelled.


Mister 100 gained 17 match points from eleven games. All teams played ten and eleven matches. Mister 100 leads the ranking ahead of Op de Meir with 15 (one matcxh less) and Biljart Express with 14 out of 10, followed by Den Eik, De Witte Molen and Zanzibar with 11 points. In the lower regions Biljartpalace is the number last with 5 points, Biljart-World, De Ploeg, Kortrijk and Brugse are in the danger zone with 6 and 7 match points.

Peter and Kurt Ceulemans achieved victories over Tom Löwe and Dirk Weeremans in 32 innings in the last match, a catch-up match from the 10th round. Peter won by 40-24, Kurt by 40-22. Bart Ceulemans beat Ad Broeders 40-33 in 37, Jerry Hermans gave Francis Forton one of his rare losses with 40-34 in 39.

The autumn title of Mister 100 was won by four regular players of whom Bart Ceulemans scored 18 points out of 10, Peter 17 out of 10. Kurt 16 out of 10 and Jerry Hermans 13 out of 10. The players who scored the most match points for their team are Roland Forthomme from Zanzibar (16 out of 10), Koen Saver from Bruges and Frédéric Beghin from Kortrijk (both 16 out 11), Johan Loncelle and Frans van Kuyk 14 out 10, Ronny Daniels 14 out of 11.

The best average has played by Eddy Merckx with 1,767 followed by Pierre Soumagner with 1,648, Johan Loncelle with 1,551, Peter Ceulemans with 1,505, Barry van Beers and Francis Forton with 1,425, Peter De Backer with 1,421, Kurt Ceulemans with 1,379, Frans van Kuyk with 1,376.
