Torbjörn Blomdahl's position is in danger, but the Swede is still in top 14

LA BAULE - The world's top two on the ranking remains unchanged after the World Cup finals in La Baule. Frédéric Caudron can raise his leading position over Dick Jaspers on the final day, because the Dutchman was eliminated by Semih Sayginer this Saturday in the best match ever played at a World Cup. The Turkish star player won 40-25 in 6 innings and thus improved the record that was in the hands of Caudron with 40 in 7 innings in Bursa 2017. Semih Sayginer, all the way back to the world top, can enter the top three in the finals, where Marco Zanetti, for the time being, took over from HaengJik Kim.

Martin Horn will surely make a huge jump on the rankings. The German is on 46th place now with 55 points after his return to the World Cup circuit. Semih Sayginer is on seventh spot before this last day and in the mood to raise his position. HaengJik Kim was third behind Caudron and Jaspers before La Baule and dropped to eighth place.

Quyet Chien Tran climbed from eighth to fifth place, Murat Naci Coklu comes from eleventh place and is sixth now. Jung-Han Heo dropped four places, from six to ten, Sung-Won Choi goes up from 13 to 11. The Vietnamese Nguyen Quoc Nguyen disappears from the top fourteen and drops from 9 to 16. Torbjörn Blomdahl's position, after his early elimination, is not yet in danger. The Swede remains in 12th place just before Jae-Ho Cho and Tayfun Tasdemir, who enters the top fourteen.

Dani Sánchez has not yet managed to regain his position. The Spaniard goes from 17 to 18. Eddy Leppens remains on 19, Nikos Polychronopoulos on 20. Birol Uymaz rises five places from 33 to 28, Robinson Morales goes up from 32 to 29.

The ranking before the final day with in brackets the positions before the World Cup in La Baule. Caudron, Sayginer, Cho and Horn still receive points after today: the winner 80 points, the second 54, the numbers three and four 38 points. The points of the World Cup in Porto in 2017 have already been deducted from all players.
