Soissons is hosting the championship with 5 teams in 3 disciplines

SOISSONS - The weekend of 15 and 16 June is dedicated to the French team championship in the classic games. Five teams were launched in Soissons yesterday (Friday) for a three-day tournament per team in the balk-lines 71/2, 47/2 and one cushion.
The team Oissel, with Johann Petit, Arnim Kahofer and Fabio Venditelli, is the leader after one day with a victory over the organizing Soissons and a draw against Ronchin.

The five teams in the title race meet each other a direct final with a single competition. Soissons, already organizer of the European championship in the same disciplines, is hosting the tournament in its billiard place.
Pierre Soumagne was the only winner for the home team against Oissel on the first day. Patrick Dupont lost the balk-line 71/2 against Johann Petit (200-26) and Arnim Kahofer defeated Alain Remond in one cushion (120-81 8).

Andernos suffered a surprisingly big defeat against Chartres, that with Willy Gérimont, Xavier Gretillat and Jacky Justice scored a 6-0 victory. Gretillat defeated Peter De Backer with a big margin in 71/2 (200-22 in 4), Gérimont bested Gerassimopoulos in the final rush in 47/2 with 250-199 in four innings.

Oissel and Ronchin played a draw in the third game of the day. Bernard Villiers, the European finalist, defeated Arnim Kahofer in one cushion (120-13 in 16). Djoubri and Venditelli shared the profits in 47/2 (250-250 in 4) with runs of 193 and 162. Florent beat Petit 200-61.
