The world federation of billiards received the official notification from EU commission that the case has been closed

LAUSANNE - The world billiards feceration UMB has received the official notification from the European Commission, stating that the complaint by the Professional Billiard Associaton (PBA) and 22 individual players against the suspensions of players by the UMB, submitted in September 2019, has been dismissed and closed. The UMB concludes that the decison taken by the European Commission has confirmed its position and direction regarding the application of its Statutes and Rules.

The file (AT 40674) was created after the PBA and 22 players complained to the EU against the UMB sanctions, because players were not allowed to participate in PBA tournaments.

In the statement, the UMB wrote: "The UMB and its partners have always joined efforts for a positive development of our sport, beneficial for players, officials, sponsors and fans. The statement concludes with: "Even in this difficult COVID-19 times, the UMB is confident that its sports activities and events will soon resume with a renewed, fresh look at the future.''

The first suspensions were pronounced in June 2019 against 20 European players, one American and one Colombian and mainly Korean players. The UMB carried out the sanctions because it believed that the PBA tournaments could not be included in the UMB international sports calendar.

In ten days, the 6th of July, the first PBA tournament in South Korea after the Corona crisis has been planned on the calendar.
