Peter Ceulemans, a new challenge in the Dutch league

ZUNDERT/OOSTERHOUT - The first major transfer next year in the Dutch premier league has been announced. Peter Ceulemans leaves his team in Zundert, where he played for fifteen years and leaves for Team Eekhoorn in Oosterhout. He has signed a three year contract and will be part of the project that team boss Jerry Hermans from De Eekhoorn has launched. Kenny Miatton leaves the team, the line-up will be with Frans van Kuyk, Peter Ceulemans in second place, Kurt Ceulemans and Jerry Hermans.

Peter Ceulemans has confirmed the transfer. "I received a very nice offer to join this new team, but I have been thinking about it for a long time. With Zundert, I had a wonderful time, made many friends and last year we won the Dutch cup and this year we are again in the race for the play-offs and the cup. I surely hope that we will win a prize with the team.''
Jerry Hermans was looking for strengthening the team to play in the top of the league. "The three-year contract is important to me, because we have a nice team and want to make it even stronger in the coming years. We say farewell to Kenny Miatton as friends.''

Peter Ceulemans: "What has been decisive for me is not only the nice offer and the project, but the good support and professional appearance of the team. And maybe it is'nt bad for me that after so many years in Zundert, I go for a new challenge. I am very happy with it anyway.''

The grandson of 'Mister 100' has also been approached for a transfer to the Korean new league, but will almost certainly choose for the UMB and the national competitions. "It will be a very difficult story for all players if the UMB will suspend. If I speak for myself: I should live on my own in Korea and no longer play competitions (Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France), no championships and Grand Prix tournaments. Also, I have my family, my work, my teams, I will not give up on that. Many players have the same feeling.''
