Pedro Piedrabuena, first candidate for the title

CALI - On the penultimate day of the Pan American championship, Pedro Piedrabuena has showed his form and made clear he is the first candidate for the title. The American champion defeated the Colombian Andres Naranjo in an amazing fight.

The start of the match fantastic: Piedrabuena, who had to win, took the lead in the second inning with a run of 13. His opponent responded immediately with eleven, closed the gap, but eventually Piedrabuena triumphed with a big margin: 30-13 in only 9 innings (3333).

Naranjo took his revenge in the next match and defeated his compatriot Andres Lizarazo 30-9 in 15 innings. The victory was notable due to the run of sixteen, the highest of the tournament.

In the main tournament with 32 players Michael Kang won against another American, Hugo Patino, 30-20 in 27 innings. Carlos Cambino beat Munoz 30-23 in 23. Fernando Diaz defeated Luis Aveiga 30-23.
