SHARM EL SHEIKH/VEGHEL - The final kick-off of the World Cup in Veghel and, at later stage, the World Cup in Sharm el Sheikh and the World Championships in that town, is increasing by the day. The UMB (world federation) has announced the dates for the registration and has brought forward the final decision on whether to proceed.
The invitations for the World Cup in Veghel, which is scheduled for 7 to 13 November, will be published by the UMB on 27 September. The organization, BEN Foundation, is convinced that the second World Cup in Veghel will almost certainly take place. The UMB is in constant consultation with the organizers.
The later events, the World Cup and the World Championship in Sharm El Sheikh, have been updated on the calendar. The World Cup is from 28 November to 4 December 2021. The World Senior three cushion Championship, also in Sharm El Sheikh, is from 7 to 11 December.
The UMB announced: ''To minimise the risk of cancellation, the invitation dates for the World Championship have been reduced from 10 to 8 weeks and for the World Cups from 8 to 6 weeks, prior to the start of the event.''
For the World Cup, the invitation will be published on 12 October 2021. For the World Championship on 18 October 2021.
The UMB also said in its statement: ''While the risk of cancellation of these events, in these COVID-19 times, is almost negligible, neither the UMB nor the organizers assume any liability and cannot be held responsible for any costs or damages regarding the booking of flights and accommodation. It is the responsibility of the traveller/participant to take out adequate insurance.''
