Roland Forthomme as best of four to semis

BLANKENBERGE - He got no opposition in his match tonight and with the best average of the four semi-finalists, Roland Forthomme has qualified for the final rounds. The 'big four' of the Belgian three cushion meet tomorrow (Saturday) at 15.00.

Roland Forthomme played a superior match against Steven van Acker, the conqueror of Davy van Havere yesterday. The young Eeklo player could not show that form at all in his duel with Forthomme: 40-13 in 21 innings.

Forthomme started off with an 9-run in the second inning. That margin he could increase in the second part of the match, when he built up a big lead in his usual, always something hurriedly looking playing style.

Patrick Niessen and Eddy Leppens both took the penultimate hurdle in the balk-line 47/2 on their way to the mutual confrontation, in which they battle for the title.

Leppens won in six innings against Devos. Niessen also defeated Devos, in three innings.
