Roland Forthomme closed the day with an impressive one-man show

ANDERNOS - The first day of the Kozoom Challenge in Groups C and D has finished with Marco Zanetti and Nikos Polychronopoulos as the leading players after six sets. The best final sprint came from Roland Forthomme with two well won sets of ten points in 1 and 2 innings. Polychronopoulos is the best in average with 1,667, Zanetti has the most comfortable lead.

The Italian won four of six sets in Group C, Ruben Legazpi and Arnim Kahofer both won one single set. Marco Zanetti won the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th sets, in between Kahofer triumphed with a minimal margin over Legazpi (10-9) and only in the very last set did the Spaniard reach the redeeming 10 for the first set win.

Nikos Polychronopoulos also finished victorious in the first two sets, lost the third 10-9 to Dave Christiani, won the fourth and finished the fifth and sixth sets without scoring. That was not so surprising, because in those last two sets, Roland Forthomme made a one-man show of the match. The Belgian first won 10-1-0 in two innings and in the last sets 10-0-0, when he did not allow his two opponents one single inning.

The standings in the two groups:

Group C:
1 Marco Zanetti 4-45-32-1,406-7
2 Ruben Legazpi 1-44-31-1.419-7
3 Arnim Kahofer 1-34-31-1.097-5

Group D:
