Top three finishers in the Yasmani Cup: Umeda, Sánchez and Blomdahl

TOKYO - Ryuji Umeda has won the 8th Yamani Cup in Tokyo. The Japanese, ex-world champion in three cushion, finished ahead of Dani Sánchez and Torbjörn Blomdahl in this tournament with nine participants and matches to 42 points.

Sánchez, who played the highest average over eight matches (2.201) lost his chances by a loss against Takamase Hagiwara. Moreover Sánchez tied in his match against Torbjörn Blomdahl in eighteen innings.

Ryuji Umeda lost only one match, against Sánchez (40-21 in 17) and won his seven other matches. He ended up with 14 match points, one ahead of Sánchez and two ahead of Blomdahl, who lost against Umeda and played draws against Sánchez and Shimada.
