AFFERDEN - In a perfect final match, in which both Sam van Etten and Raymund Swertz finished in one inning, the Dutch title in balk-line 47/2 has been decided. The title went to Sam van Etten, who remained unbeaten in the tournament. It was his second national championship in a row in this game type. The podium: 1 Sam van Etten, 2 Raymund Swertz, 3 Gert-Jan Veldhuizen.
The tournament was played in the billiard arena of 't Töpke in Afferden, where eight participants started in two groups of four. The four finalists were Sam van Etten, Raymund Sweertz, Gert-Jan Veldhuizen and Micha van Bochum, who were then placed in a final flight.
Sam van Etten started with a win over Gert-Jan Veldhuizen (250-79 in 4 innings), Raymund Swertz defeated Micha van Bochem 250-89 in 4. In the second round, Sam van Etten was superior with a run 250 from the spots vs. Micha van Bochem: 250-0 in 1. Raymund Swertz ran against a well playing Gert-Jan Veldhuizen, who finished in two innings with a run of 227: 250-151 in 2. Because of that match results in the second round, Van Etten was the main contender in the deciding session.
The North Holland player made up to the high expectations: he played the 250 caroms in one innings, the same as Raymund Swertz and thus gained the championship. Gert-Jan Veldhuizen secured his podium place with a victory over Micha van Bochem: 250-226 in 9.
